It is made of PCTG resin, BPA-free, durable and easy to clean.The new design makes the filter paper closer fits with the dripper.

Three-layer construction is clear. The first layer is sealed layer where water cannot pass because there’s no groove on the surface. It can control the water-flow when you pour in a large water flow; The second is water layer where you can pour water. The area of the concave lessen gradually in order to control the speed of the water flow; The last is coffee layer where 15/20g coffee ground just take over. Large amount of grooves can make the extraction more even.

Filter paper fully fits the dripper. The special design of groove makes the dripper surface a fully cone so it solve the problem of fitness with the filter and the dripper. It’s easy to make a coffee ground even you’re a beginner.

Change the traditional pattern. Instead of controlling the water flow by ribs like traditional filter cups, it is designed to be concave in most areas, so that the water flow is more uniform and smooth, with the smooth permeability, there is no need to worry about over-extraction when the water flow is slow.

This paper is really a triumph for us. A great replacement for the trusty (and somewhat rusty) Kalita Wave paper that our brewers were designed to use initially – with the same brew times but much cleaner, more transparent results. A premium paper stock from Japan is the basis of our new wave-shaped paper with superior results at comparable prices. We know this is what all manufacturers say about their own paper – but we really mean it. We have tested them all and this is the best option – period.

Thick, but porous

The paper construction is quite thick but also porous, which helps improve performance compared to alternatives. We didn’t like this paper in a flat format, but loved it in a wave shape – where its properties really shine.

Clean results, without papery taste

In the cup, you will have superior clarity but no papery taste – which was very important for us. This means less need for wasting hot water in pre-wetting and a more delicious cup of coffee.

Plug & play

We know we have a lot of filter options for our brewers, including the flat papers and Negotiator system – but we want to provide plug and play simple options too. The wave paper is the simplest filter method allowing you to just grab one, throw it in, and start brewing. If you want to expand and test many paper styles – for faster or higher extraction brews, we’ve got your back too with the Negotiator system. If you just want something simple, then this wave paper is for you.

Fast but not the fastest option

This paper is fast, but not the fastest option we have for this brewer. If you want to brew quicker and grind finer, we recommend using the Negotiator and the Sibarist FAST Flat papers.

Compatible with all except the Big Boy

This paper works in the V3, V3 MK2, Glass Series OPEN, V4 Narrow & V4 Wide. The only brewer this paper is not compatible with is the Big Boy, which has its own wave-shaped filter.

One size

We currently stock this paper only in the “Large / 185” size. These papers would be compatible with any brewer that works with Kalita Wave 185 filters as this shape and size is equivalent.

What's a Negotiator?

\nThe Negotiator is essentially a model of the inside geometry of our brewers. You can use these tools to fit different types of filters inside the brewer, perfectly respecting the inner geometry. It helps you experience a different way to brew with the OREA Brewer using a lower bypass filter fit to reach higher extractions and explore a different brew method within the same brewing system. This device works together with flat circular papers, like the OREA flat paper Type "G" & Type "C", or Sibarist FAST flat filter (OREA special edition).

Why do people love it?

\nBy "negotiating" the paper to fit perfectly in the brewer we ensure that more water is able to travel directly downwards through the coffee bed and not around it. This leads to more consistency and better extractions. It's not just a matter of higher extractions, rather higher quality extractions. By using this method, you also open up the bed more, using more space and opening up more space in the brewer compared to the wave filters. All of this contributes to a unique profile that people love. \n

\nThis negotiator is designed to work with the OREA V3 (small & large), V3 MK2, and the Glass Series OPEN Brewer. It is also backwards compatible with the OREA V2 (for those that own one). \n

\nThis is not a "zero bypass" solution, rather a way to minimise bypass and ensure more consistency. We prefer this approach as you can still brew quickly but reach higher extractions without much effort and time. \n

We refer to the negotiator as a power-up, rather than a necessity. It's there if you want to explore and push this brewer further - but there's no shame in keeping it simple either. \n \n‍
